Our client requested a £2.75 million interest-only mortgage to purchase a new home in Richmond. As he works for a leading bank in Hong Kong he required guidance to ensure he was securing the best expat mortgage available to him.

Case details: Our client wanted to borrow as much money as possible to put towards the £4 million plus purchase price.

Property: Five bedroom house in the Richmond upon Thames.

Mortgage rate: A fantastically low five-year tracker rate at 2.49% - taken over a five-year term.

Lenders arrangement fee: 0.5% of the loan amount.

APR: The overall cost for comparison is 2.7%.

Repayment type: Interest-only.

Loan-to-value: Approximately 70% of the property value. Funds on account to be managed by the bank: £150,000.
