Swedish private bank Handelsbanken opens more UK branches

Handelsbanken has opened ten branches since December pushing the total number in the UK to 171.

Four years ago, the notoriously conservative bank had just over 60 branches although they have been steadily growing.

At the end of 2012 the bank had £5 billion worth of customer deposits and lent approximately £12 billion, mainly to business customers.

Anders Bouvin, chief executive of Handelsbanken, told The Times the private bank is looking for more customers and he did not “believe that technology can replaced face-to-face banks in the UK.”

Trinity Financial has worked with a number of their branches over the years and sometimes their lending criteria and rates can change from branch to branch.

It is not unusual for Handelsbanken to offer bespoke pricing to customers.
