Barclays has lowered the price of their residential mortgages this week and some rates are 0.5% cheaper.

For borrowers looking for a large mortgage loan Barclays has introduced a new two-year fix at 2.19%. This rate is particularly low, especially as it is available to a maximum of £1.5 million. The arrangement fee is £1,999 and borrowers will need a 35% deposit.

The bank has also cut their 30% deposit ltv lifetime tracker mortgages by 0.5%, from base plus 3.19% to base plus 2.69%, and their two-year tracker at 80% ltv from base plus 2.99% to base plus 2.49%. The arrangement fee is £999 on both rates and the maximum loan is £1 million.

Aaron Strutt, a broker at Trinity Financial, says: "We have access to Barclays mortgages and they offer great value for money at the moment. They have generous affordability calculators and offer interest-only to some borrowers."
