Woolwich for Intermediates has launched its lowest ever fixed rate mortgage at 1.79%.

Their "Mass Affluent" two-year fix is available for mortgages between £500,000 and £2 million. It has a £1,999 arrangement fee and a maximum loan-to-value of 65%.

Trinity Financial has access to Scottish Widows' offset two-year fix at 1.79%. It normally has a maximum loan size of £1 million although, providing borrowers agree to pay the £1,499 arrangement fee twice, they can borrow £2 million. The maximum loan-to-value is 60%.

Aaron Strutt, product manager at Trinity Financial, says: "High street mortgage lenders are trying to attract more high net worth borrowers and they are tempting them in by offering them their best ever mortgage rates. It is pretty unusual for a lender to offer their lowest mortgage rate to someone looking to raise millions of pounds."
