Skipton to lower their mortgage reversion rates

Skipton Building Society has announced they will lower their mortgage reversion rates from Wednesday 1 October.

Their reversion rates are being lowered from 5.49% to 4.99% for residential customers and from 5.69% to 5.19% for buy-to-let customers.

Aaron Strutt, product manager at Trinity Financial, says: "It is unusual for a lender to lower the reversion rate on their mortgages, particularly without any movement in the Bank of England base rate.

"It is worth checking the fixed or tracker rate the mortgage will revert to particularly as some of them can be higher than average."
