Skipton for Intermediaries has launched a range of seven-year fixed rate mortgages designed for the more risk adverse borrowers.

Their lowest seven-year mortgage is fixed at 3.99% and borrowers will need a 40% deposit to access it. The APR is 5%. The lender has a range of mortgages for borrowers with lower deposits although the rates increase accordingly.

Aaron Strutt, product manager at Trinity Financial, says: “There are very few lenders offering fixed rate mortgages for longer than five-years unless you lock into a ten-year fix.”

Skipton’s new mortgages do not have an arrangement fee and, after the fixed rate period, they revert to the lenders standard variable rate, currently 5.49%.
