Platform launches its lowest ever two-year fixed rate mortgage

Platform, the broker lending arm of The Co-operative Bank, has launched its lowest ever two-year fixed rate at 1.64%. It has an APR of 4.6% and the maximum loan size is £1 million.

It is available to borrowers with a 40% deposit and it has a £999 arrangement fee. The lender provides £250 cash back and there is also a free standard property valuation. Early repayment changes apply for the first two-years.

Aaron Strutt, product manager at Trinity Financial, says: “Most of the banks and building societies have been constantly lowering their rates to attract new customers it is still possible to borrow up to five-times both single and joint incomes.”

After the fixed rate period the mortgage will revert to the lenders standard variable rate, currently 4.75%.
