National Counites Building Society has rebranded its mortgage lending arm and diverted all new mortgage applications to be processed through its Family Building Society brand.

The society says it will not change to way it underwriters applications or amend its lending criteria. In addition, it will not charge a valuation fee for many customers and provide a free in-house legal service for those looking to remortgage.

As a result of this brand transition, the number of mortgages available under the Family Building Society brand has tripled and now includes buy-to-let products for the first time.

The Family Building Society (FBS) offers a range of mortgages and caters for all types of borrowers, including expats, foreign nationals, older customers and those seeking larger mortgage loans.

Keith Barber, the FBS's director of business development, explained: “The Family Building Society brand was very well received when we launched it just over two years ago. It focuses on innovative and practical solutions for the mortgage and savings needs of all generations, across both first-time buyers, mid-life borrowers and in later life.”
