Brits plan to spend £8.5 billion on Christmas presents

Brits are planning to spend an average of Â£325 per household on Christmas presents this year, according research by Tesco Bank. One in ten people are planning to spend over Â£600 on gifts for their friends and loved ones and 58% of people have started their shopping already.

Tesco has based their Â£8.5 billion Christmas spend figure on numbers from the Office of National Statistics and the 26,355,000 households in the UK.
