Digital Mortgages by Atom Bank has increased its maximum mortgage term from 35 to 40-years.

Digital Mortgages is the latest lender to start offering 40-year mortgage terms along with Halifax, Clydesdale Bank, Leeds and Nationwide Building Society.

Aaron Strutt, product director at Trinity Financial, says: “Longer mortgage terms tend to be popular with first-time buyers and younger borrowers because they make the monthly repayments more affordable. They also enable some to secure larger mortgage loans.”
