HMRC has launched a specialist taskforce to target tax evasion on rented properties. They will concentrate on areas of the UK including: London, Leeds, York and Nottingham. The new rental task force has been introduced to cover more high risk areas of tax avoidance and it is expected to recover more than £17million in unpaid tax. HMRC says that deliberately evading tax can land you a heavy fine or even a criminal prosecution. June 1, 2012
