The Times - Kwasi Kwarteng effect puts £1,500 on home loans

The chancellor’s mini-budget has added £1,500 to the average mortgage borrower’s annual bill in what analysts have dubbed the “Kwarteng premium”.

Aaron Strutt from Trinity Financial, the mortgage broker, said it was “pretty fair” to describe what has happened to mortgage rates over the past week as a “Kwarteng premium”, referring to the mini-budget on September 23.
