Borrowers are getting new mortgage offers in record time through certain lenders. Halifax and Barclays consistently offer mortgage offers within a minute when issued through brokers like Trinity Financial.
Aaron Strutt from the broker Trinity Financial told The Sunday Times: “Most cases are going to be manually checked and it normally takes a few weeks for a mortgage offer. It can be really slow if the lenders ask additional questions.
“But the banks are definitely keen for business this year and are using increasingly sophisticated technology that automates much of the process. Offers are getting quicker, but 60 seconds must be a near record.”
