Barclays mortgage borrowers can now rent out their spare room or whole property on Airbnb without falling foul of its lending rules.
Aaron Strutt of Trinity Financial told The Sunday Times: “I’m sure lots of people put their houses on Airbnb and don’t realise they need to ask their lender, but the consequences could be very bad.”
