Mortgage Strategy - Average short-term fix hits two-year high as repricing continues

NatWest is trimming prices tomorrow as others continue to hike costs taking the average two-year fixed rate to its highest point for more than two years.
Today’s figures from Moneyfacts confirm the average two-year fixed rate is now at 5.91%, the highest it has been since July 2024 and up from 5.84% on Friday.
Trinity Financial product and communications director Aaron Strutt says: “NatWest is the first of the big lenders to stop hiking rates and bring them down.
“Over the last few days there have been a lot of rate rises, HSBC launched its new fixes today and they are nowhere as competitively priced as normal."
