Financial Times - Mortgage deal boost for young professionals

Mortgage options improved for young professionals after Clydesdale Bank launched a specific range of products available up to 5.5 times salary.

Clydesdale’s enhanced income multiples are available to accountants, architects, barristers, chartered surveyors, dentists, medical doctors, pharmacists, pilots, solicitors and vets with an annual income of £40,000 or more, as long as they have qualified within the past five years.

Aaron Strutt, product manager at broker Trinity Financial, told the Financial Times: “To qualify for the enhanced professional criteria you may well need to choose from a range of products and the rates might be more expensive than the ‘best buy’ deals. The professional rates may not be the cheapest on the market but you are paying for the flexible criteria.”
