Financial Times - Buy-to-let property sell-off precedes mortgage tax relief cuts

The Financial Times highlights that Buy-to-let landlords are selling parts of their property portfolios to pay down mortgage debts as the potential loss of a valuable tax relief makes some highly geared properties less viable.

Others investors are buying properties not as individuals but as limited companies to reduce their tax liabilities, but Aaron Strutt of Trinity Financial, told the Financial Times that borrowers considering this more complex form of ownership should take advice on the implications from an accountant or financial adviser.
