The BBC’s Watchdog programme highlighted mortgage lenders and their highest arrangement fees this week. Watchdog, with around four million viewers, explained that mortgage rates have fallen since the start of the Funding for Lending Scheme, but many arrangement fees have increased.

Aaron Strutt, a broker at Trinity Financial, says: “Some of the lenders have high arrangement fees as they look to offer lower headline rates, but they generally have a low fee option. “Many of our clients are happy to pay a higher fee to ensure their mortgage repayments are as low as possible.”
