Woolwich launches 1.49% two-year tracker rate mortgage

Woolwich for Intermediaries has taken the increasingly unusual step of launching a leading two-year tracker rate mortgage. It undercuts virtually all of the other deals available across the market.

Trinity has access to the leading 1.49% two-year tracker priced at 0.99% over the Bank of England base rate. It has a £999 arrangement fee and the APR is 3.7%.

As the lender offers a switch-to-fix facility and there aren’t any early repayment charges, borrowers have the option of switching to a fixed rate deal at any time and this is useful for payment security when rates eventually start to rise.

Borrowers will need a 25% deposit to access this rate and it has a maximum loan size of £1 million. At the end of the tracker period, the rate reverts to 3.49% over the Bank of England base rate, currently 3.99%.
