Surveyor shortage still causing long delays

The shortage of property surveyors is still causing long delays and some valuers are now taking two weeks before they will even instruct a valuation. Many of the mortgage lenders using Colleys and e-surv are really struggling at the moment. Anthony Emmerson, a director at Trinity Financial, says: “Lloyds Banking Group is particularly badly affected, especially when they are trying to instruct valuations in London and the south-east, and in particular SW and KT postcodes.” RICs has already said that they are going to launch and independent commission to find out the cause of the delays. There are currently 8,500 residential valuers registered, of which 5,500 list residential valuations as their primary activity. Not all mortgage lenders and valuers are reporting delays, if you would like a fast mortgage offer, call Trinity Financial on 020 7016 0790. August 23, 2013
