Processing delays slowing down mortgage offer times
Many of the largest banks and building societies are experiencing application processing delays resulting in slower mortgage offer times.
Santander for Intermediaries, one of the most generous lenders, is taking approximately one week to assess new applications and three days to process supporting documentation.
Another lender, the Woolwich, is potentially taking up to nine working days to deal with cases.
Not all of the lenders are experiencing delays, although sometimes their mortgage rates are marginally more expensive than Santander and Woolwich.
