National Counties Building Society has made changes to its mortgage arrangement fee structure.

Previously, the society charged a £945 fee for mortgages up to £350,000, but for mortgages of £1,000 more it went up to just over £3,500.

From the 9th March, there will be a standard fixed fee of £945 for mortgages up to £500,000 and a 0.3% fee for mortgages over £500,000.

Cammy Amaira, head of intermediary sales at National Counties, said: “We have made a concerted effort to tailor our products to suit our customers’ needs and we have listened to feedback from our introducing brokers and other intermediaries.

“Our brokers feel there is a growing demand for loans around £350,000 - £500,000 and this new structure graduates the rise in fees.”
