Halifax tops mortgage lender rating survey

Halifax has beaten Accord Mortgages by a fraction of a percentage point to top the latest Mortgage Strategy magazine lender rating survey.

The survey of scores submitted by ten broker firms, including Trinity Financial, assess the lender's service, products and overall proposition.

Halifax for Intermediaries received the highest score with 82.9% marginally ahead of Accord Mortgages with 82.5%. Santander for Intermediaries dropped to 10th place in the table with a score of 74% - just above TSB Bank with 71%.

Trinity Financial explained to Mortgage Strategy that Halifax is offering cheap rates and regularly accepts niche applications refused by other large lenders. Also, HSBC offers excellent rates for large mortgage loans.
