Debt consolidation mortgages available through Trinity Financial

There are a number of banks and building societies happy to offer debt consolidation mortgages to borrowers planning to refinance their credit cards and loans.

Over the last few years the largest banks and building societies have tightened up their lending polices considerably. This has led to some of the largest high street lenders to refuse applications, particularly if there is an income stretch.

Santander recently amended their debt consolidation lending policy and they still include credit card and loan repayments into the mortgage affordability calculations. This means that many borrowers will not be able be pass the initial acceptance criteria. Even if the debts are going to be repaid on completion of the remortgage Santander may not lend due to affordability issues.

Aaron Strutt, product manager at Trinity Financial, says: “The high street lenders may have tightened up but there are still debt consolidation options for some borrowers looking to refinance. Providing you have a good salary and enough equity in the property we should be able to help.”
