Nearly a third (32%) of British adults aged between 25-39 are still living with their parents, according to Confused.com research. Around 49% of 25-39 year olds have debts topping £9,000 and they typically spend between £50-£150 each week on entertainment. Confused.com conducted some fairly extensive research into the habits of the younger generation. More than two thirds (67%) of 18-39 year olds do not have life insurance and less than half (44%) of Brits have savings greater than £1,000. Nearly one in three (32%) of Brits between the ages of 18-39 do not do their own washing. Nearly two thirds (63%) of Brits are delaying getting married, with the typical age for men at 36 years and 34 for women. Matt Lloyd, head of life insurance at Confused.com, says: “We recommend to people in their twenties to start thinking now to see what they could be doing to make proper provisions for the future.” October 19, 2012
