Barclays and Woolwich for Intermediaries have lowered the price of their leading two-year fixed rate for mortgages between £500,000 and £3 million.

Trinity has access to the 1.78% two-year fix through Woolwich for Intermediaries and it has a 3.7% APR. The rate was previously 1.85%.

There is a £1,999 arrangement fee and in order to qualify borrowers will need a 35% deposit.

Aaron Strutt, product manager at Trinity Financial, says: “Even the private bankers are impressed by Woolwich’s large loan fixed rates at the moment.

“Even though more of the high-street lenders are offering larger mortgage loans, they don’t typically offer £3 million mortgages priced below 2%.”

At the end of the tracker period, the mortgage reverts to 3.49% over the Barclays base rate, which is currently 3.99%.

The lender provides a free property valuation and legals service for borrowers looking to switch banks, keeping remortgage costs to a minimum.
